This post is about unlocking the bootloader of redmi 9 pro max. The process shown is suitable for almost all of the xiaomi devices.
I have redmi note 9 pro max & I wanted to unlock the bootloader to downgrade my phone because the latest one had many bugs. In order to downgrade your device, you must have unlocked bootloader. I also installed Orangefox recovery & TWRP recovery. I was also able to root this device using Magisk. There are other several features of unlocking the bootloader like rooting your device and stopping unwanted ads on your device, changing boot animation of your device, blocking Wi-Fi users with one click & many more.
How To Unlock Bootloader of Redmi Note 9 Pro Max:
1: First You will need to install redmi note 9 pro max USB Driver, ADB Driver, and Fastboot Driver. Here is the direct link that I used to unlock the bootloader. Download drivers here.
2: Download & Install Mi Flash Unlock tool from here. After downloading the tool, Install it on your windows.
3: Sign in to your MI account that you have created or used to sign on your phone. If you don’t have mi account, create one with the help of this article. After creating the MI account, sign in your mi account on MI unlock tool on your desktop.
4: After you’ve successfully logged in, you will need to wait for 7 days to unlock the bootloader of your device. The xiaomi developers will allow your device bootloader to be unlocked only after 7 days of applying. If you try to unlock the bootloader before the time period ends, you will be shown the remaining time period.
5: After day 7, Open the xiaomi MI unlock tool & sign in again as this tool do not save our login. After you’ve signed up, Click on unlock bootloader & it will show you the warning message “unlocking bootloader may make your device vulnerable to online attacks”. Simply ignore everything & press unlock. The unlocking process usually takes 20-40 seconds. After it has successfully unlock your bootloader, it will reboot your device automatically & the device will be factory erased. You can also check the unlock 🔓 sign while your device reboots.
Note: Unlocking bootloader is easy if you follow article that has tested it manually as some article may show you things differently. As I did this myself, I can answer all of your questions.
