If you want to downgrade your phone, you must need an unlocked bootloader. To unlock the bootloader, follow this article. If you just want to flash your phone & it is bricked then unlocking the bootloader is not required.

How To Flash Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max:
Step 1: Download Latest Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Fastboot Firmware & MI Flash Tool.
Step 2: Extract Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Firmware & MI Flash Tool ZIP.
Step 3: Power of the redmi note 9 pro Max & reboot it into fastboot by pressing volume up + power key simultaneously.
Step 4: Connect your device (redmi note 9 pro Max) to laptop/pc.
Step 5: Run MI Flash tool & select the path where you extracted the redmi note 9 pro max firmware or directly copy the firmware location into MI Flash tool.
Step 6: Click on refresh button on MI Flash tool to check if your device is connected to your laptop/pc in fastboot.
Step 7: Click on Flash at the top right corner of MI Flash tool. This will start the flashing process. Flashing will take upto 5-10 minutes depending upon your laptop/pc performance.
After the flashing is complete, your device will automatically reboot itself into the system. The first reboot will take upto 4-8 minutes. After the reboot is complete, simply set up your redmi note 9 pro max & use it.

Step 1: Download Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Fastboot Firmware

Step 2: Download & Install MI Flash.

Step 3: Run MI Flash Tool

Step 4: Click on select on the top left corner & choose your downloaded redmi note 9 pro Max Fastboot firmware. (You can also directly copy the firmware file location)

Step 5: Reboot your redmi note 9 pro Max into Fastboot by pressing volume up + power key simultaneously.
Step 6: Connect your device (redmi note 9 pro Max) to laptop/pc.
Step 7: If you want your bootloader to be unlocked after flashing then select clear all on the MI Flash tool down below. If you want to relock the bootloader, simply ignore the step 7 & begin flashing.

Step 7: Click Flash on the top right corner & wait for the flashing to be completed.


After the flashing is complete, your device will automatically reboots into the system. The first reboot will take a while.
